1997

2009

The Prius entered the Philippine market, marking Toyota's introduction of hybrid electric vehicle technology in the country.

2014

The Mirai is launched as Toyota's first hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle.

2019

The Corolla Altis HEV was introduced in the Philippines, expanding Toyota's hybrid vehicle lineup.

2021

The Camry became Toyota Philippines' first model with an all-HEV lineup.

2022

Toyota achieves 55 electrified models, with more to come.

2022

The Corolla Cross HEV was introduced as Toyota's first HEV crossover in the Philippines.

2025

The bZ4X, Toyota's first all-battery electric vehicle (BEV), entered the Philippine market.

2026

Toyota and Lexus reached the widest electrified vehicle lineup in the Philippines, with a total of 22 electrified vehicles — 12 Toyota models and 10 Lexus models.

Toyota’s cumulative sales of electrified vehicles have already crossed 20 million units over the 21 years since the launch of the Prius in Japan in 1997.

As a result, we have reduced CO₂ emissions by 160 million tons globally.

Our hybrid electric vehicles have resulted to savings of 65 million kiloliters of gasoline, enough to power over 10 million homes in one year OR nearly 2 million trips to the moon and back!

Global Environmental Concern

Toyota believes in active participation in the reduction of global temperatures. To limit the rise of atmospheric temperatures to 2°C, greenhouse gas emissions in 2050 should be reduced by 40%-70% compared to 2010. To aid in this global challenge, Toyota continues to explore various electric vehicle technologies like HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, FCEVs and even the use of synthetic and alternative fuels like hydrogen.
